Feuer symbolisiert als eines der Urelemente Leben, Zerstörung, Transformation und Erneuerung. Für die Umsetzung dieser Arbeit hat die Künstlerin Kinder und Jugendliche gebeten, Feuer zu malen. Die Ergebnisse dieser einfachen Aufgabenstellung zeigen die Vielfältigkeit der Darstellungsweisen von Feuer. Feuer ist eines der wenigen Elemente, das gleichzeitig Form und Formlosigkeit verkörpert und deshalb oft als ultimatives Symbol für dasParadoxe dient: es spendet Leben und vernichtet es zugleich. Der Verstand versucht, etwas zu fixieren, das seinem Wesen nach flüchtig ist. Es ist diese Unfassbarkeit, die das Feuer so geheimnisvoll und faszinierend wirken lässt.

As one of the primordial elements, fire symbolizes life, destruction, transformation, and renewal. To realize this work, the artist asked children and adolescents to paint fire. The results of this simple assignment demonstrate the diversity of the ways in which fire can be depicted. Fire is one of the few elements that simultaneously embodies form and formlessness, and thus often serves as the ultimate symbol of the paradoxical: it sustains life while simultaneously destroying it. The mind attempts to pin down something that is, by its very nature, fleeting. It is this elusiveness that makes fire appear so mysterious and fascinating.
